TimeLeft App

A gentle countdown to a more intentional life.

Most of us act like we have unlimited tomorrows. TimeLeft is a small, quiet reminder that we don’t — and that’s exactly what makes today matter.

See how much time you might have left if you live to the age you choose, and use that awareness to spend your days more intentionally, not more anxiously.

What TimeLeft Does

TimeLeft is a simple iPhone and iPad app (with a Home Screen widget) that:

  • Lets you enter your birthdate and a target age (e.g., 85, 90, 100)

  • Estimates your “final day” based on that target age

  • Shows you how much time you have left in:

    • Years

    • Months

    • Weeks

    • Days

    • Hours

    • Minutes

    • Seconds

  • Gently reminds you to:

    • Use your time wisely

    • Savor ordinary moments

    • Say “yes” and “no” more intentionally

No streaks. No gamification. Just a calm, honest perspective on the time you have left if life goes roughly how you hope it will.

Why on Earth Would I Want a Countdown of My Life?

Because ignoring the clock doesn’t stop it.

TimeLeft isn’t about doom; it’s about direction.

When you see your remaining time in days, weeks, and hours, it becomes easier to ask better questions:

  • “Who do I actually want to spend my time with?”

  • “What am I postponing that actually matters to me?”

  • “If I only have this many summers left, how do I want to use the next one?”

TimeLeft is not here to tell you what to do. It’s here to quietly tap you on the shoulder and say: Hey, this moment counts too.

Key Features

📆 Set Your Own Target Age

You choose the age you’d like to live to — based on your own values, health conversations, and optimism. The app doesn’t guess for you.

⏱ Live Ticking Countdown

Watch your remaining seconds, minutes, hours, days, weeks, months, and years update in real time. It’s oddly grounding.

📊 Multiple Views of Time

Some days, years feel abstract. Seeing your life in weeks or days can be a powerful (and oddly motivating) reframing.

💬 Gentle, Inspiring Quotes

TimeLeft includes a rotating set of quotes about time, presence, and meaning — short nudges to treat your day as something worth paying attention to.

🏠 Home Screen Widget

Add the TimeLeft widget to your Home Screen to see your remaining days at a glance, without opening the app.

🔒 Your Data, On Your Device

Your birthdate and target age are stored locally on your iPhone. No accounts, no cloud sync, no tracking. Just you and your time.

How People Use TimeLeft

People use TimeLeft in different ways:

  • Morning check-in: Glance at the widget once a day and ask, “What would make today meaningful?”

  • Decision filter: When stuck on a choice, look at your remaining time and ask, “Will this matter to me in five years?”

  • Gratitude nudge: Use the countdown as a reminder that ordinary days — coffee, walks, inside jokes — are the good stuff.

  • Journaling companion: Pair TimeLeft with a short daily journal or reflection practice.

TimeLeft isn’t a productivity whip. It’s a perspective tool.

Important Disclaimer

TimeLeft does not predict your actual lifespan, health, or future.

It is a reflection tool only, based on a simple calculation:

Birthdate + Target Age = Estimated final day

Today → That day = The time you see in the app

It is not medical advice, psychological advice, or financial advice.

If you feel anxious or distressed when thinking about mortality or time, please slow down, breathe, and consider talking with someone you trust or a qualified professional. Use this app gently.

Who Made TimeLeft?

TimeLeft was created by Michael Bush, founder of GrowthWays Partners and author of Guardrailing.

Most of Michael’s work is about helping founders and leaders align strategy with what actually matters — in their companies and in their lives. TimeLeft grew out of that same impulse: to give people a simple, honest way to remember that time is not infinite, and neither is their opportunity to live meaningfully.

This is not a “maximize every second” hustle tool. It’s a small, quiet companion for people who want to live more intentionally, not more frantically.

Ready to see your time differently — and maybe use today a little better?
